Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about fitting power-tool batteries to your vacuum — compatibility, installation, performance, safety and shipping.

Compatibility

Which vacuums do your adapters fit?

Today we make adapters for the Dyson V6, V7, V8 and V10, with more vacuum brands on the way.

Which power-tool battery brands are supported?

Twelve brands: AEG 18V, Black+Decker 20V, Bosch 18V, Craftsman V20, DeWalt 20V, Greenworks 24V, Makita 18V, Milwaukee M18 18V, Porter Cable 20V, RIDGID 18V, Ryobi 18V and Stanley V20. Not every brand fits every model — see the next question.

Does every brand fit every model?

No. The V7 and V8 work with all 12 brands. The V6 works with 9 (all except Black+Decker, Porter Cable and Bosch). The V10 works with DeWalt 20V, Makita 18V and Milwaukee M18 only.

How do I know which adapter to buy?

Pick your vacuum model, then choose the adapter for the battery brand you already own. Each model page lists every compatible brand.

Do you make adapters for the V11 or V15?

Not yet — we currently cover the V6, V7, V8 and V10.

My battery brand isn't listed — will it work?

Only the listed brands are supported. The adapter's mount is shaped for a specific battery platform, so an unlisted brand won't connect.

Is there a minimum battery capacity (Ah)?

Yes. Your battery must be at least 3Ah — anything below that won't power the adapter. We recommend 4Ah or higher for the best runtime.

Installation & Use

Do I need any tools or modifications?

No. The adapter clicks onto your vacuum and your battery clips into the adapter — no wiring, cutting or permanent changes.

How do I attach it?

Slide the adapter onto your vacuum where the original battery sits, then click your tool battery into the adapter. That's it.

How do I charge the battery?

Charge it on its own power-tool charger, exactly as you normally would. The battery cannot be charged on a vacuum charger or through the adapter — remove it and use your tool's charger.

Will my vacuum still fit its wall dock?

With a tool battery attached the unit may not sit in the original dock. [Confirm based on your product.]

Performance

Will suction be as strong as the original battery?

Yes. The adapter delivers power to your vacuum's motor exactly as the original battery would, so suction is unchanged.

How long will it run on one charge?

It depends on your battery's capacity. A higher-capacity pack (we recommend 4Ah or more) typically runs longer than the stock battery.

Could it overheat or damage my vacuum?

The adapter is designed to operate within your vacuum's normal voltage range and includes built-in protection.

Is it heavier than the original battery?

Tool batteries can be a little heavier than the stock battery pack, depending on the brand and capacity.

Safety & Warranty

Is it safe to use?

Yes — the adapter includes built-in protection circuitry and is matched to your vacuum's voltage.

Will it void my warranty?

Vacuum manufacturers generally don't endorse third-party accessories, and using a non-original battery or adapter may affect your vacuum's warranty. The adapter itself carries our 1-year warranty.

What warranty do you offer?

Every adapter is covered by a 1-year warranty against defects.

Is the adapter certified?

No. Our adapter is not independently certified (such as CE or UKCA). It is built with protection circuitry to run safely within your vacuum's voltage range, and it is backed by our 1-year warranty.
